More and more divers are recounting the magic of close encounters with sea eagles.

But did you know that there are two species of eagles in the Mediterranean, both protected? And that one of these – the bull ray or duckbill eagle ray – can exceed two meters in width and is one of the rarest in our sea?

We have prepared a new fact sheet to help you tell them apart, in English and Italian, that you can download from the Download page.

Don’t forget to report any sightings of either species! Thanks to you, we are identifying important areas for eagle rays – the first step in contributing to their conservation. The link to report eagles, stingrays, and sharks is: https://tinyurl.com/LIFEEUSharksForm

Thank you!
